The Vegreville Pysanka

In the town of Vegreville, in Alberta, Canada is "The World's Largest Easter Egg", an amazing work by Ron Resch finished in the late 60's. The anodized aluminum skin is designed in the pattern of a 'pysanka', a traditional Ukranian Easter Egg.

On Nov.19 Ron Resch's son Yon shared this sad news.

Dear Friends and Family,

This morning my father passed away after many months fighting cancer. He was extremely touched by all of the love and caring he received from so many during this period, and before. He celebrated these gifts, and found great comfort in them. We are left with his stories, our memories, and his many works to remind us of the many gifts he has shared with us.

I would also like to thank you for the help and care you offered me during this time, with out which many connections between family, and care for Ron may not have happened.

Words come with difficulty today. For many weeks these lines from a song (below) have reminded me of my father. Thank you dad for all you have been and done for us.
